I’ve previously showered plenty of praise on the Mazda CX-9; at $35k it’s an excellent value, it looks superb and it’s more dependable and long-lasting than a Roman aqueduct.
But most impressively, it’s fun to drive. I can’t think of another 7-seater that I’ve enjoyed flinging around. Mazda’s motto is “jinba ittai,” meaning horse and rider as one: surely a challenging philosophy to uphold when designing a three-row SUV, but they’ve done it.
If all that weren’t enough, Consumer Reports ranked Mazda as the most reliable brand of 2020, beating out Lexus and Toyota. So I wholeheartedly recommend the CX-9.
