rental home at Beech Mountain rentals

Unless you’re lucky enough to own your own house or condo, or have generous friends who do, you’ll want to search Beech Mountain rentals for the perfect spot for your family for a trip to this North Carolina town. Known primarily as a ski destination, Beech Mountain has plenty to do other times of year, including hiking and biking.

When I stayed there with a group of women, we were in a four-bedroom rental house with a front deck that ran the length of the home. It was perfect for our four-day trip.

From chalets to cabins to hotel rooms to Airbnbs, there are plenty of options for your Beech Mountain vacation rentals. One of my favorites of the were some chalets with killer views and easy access to some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had.

4Seasons at Beech

There aren’t a lot of Beech Mountain hotels but for basic hotel lodging check out the 4 Seasons at Beech. On my one and only ski trip in high school many years ago, I’m fairly certain we stayed here. The property has 35 studios and suites.

The studios have a queen-size bed, queen-size sleeper sofa and a kitchen area with full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and small range.

The suites have a bedroom with two queen-size beds and a living area with a queen-size sleeper sofa and the same kitchen set up as the studios. Some suites have a balcony.

Beech Alpen Inn and Top of the Beech Skilodge

The Beech Alpen Inn is a good choice if you are looking for a European-style ski lodge. Both properties are located at the top of the mountain for beautiful views that include mountains, forest or slopes. Take your pick of which size room you’d like, from king to doubles and whether you want a fireplace and balcony.

Top of the Beech Skilodge is a good choice if you want views of the slopes at a budget rate.

Reviews from guests mention they love seeing the deer on property and eating at the restaurants onsite, which include the Alpen Restaurant & Bar and Bullwinkels Pizzeria and Sports Bar. They also rave about how nice the staff is.

The Pinnacle Inn

Pinnacle Inn in Beech Mountain
If you’re looking for a pool, playground and hot tubs, check out the Pinnacle Inn.

Someondo and suite rentals at Pinnacle Inn are handled by Beech Mountain Vacation Rentals. These include ski suites, which are about 300 square feet; one-bedroom condos that are around 525 square feet, and two-bedroom condos that range from 825 to 1000 square feet. You can search by number of bedrooms and price.

There are no restaurants onsite, but there is a playground, hot tub and pool. Note that there are no elevators in any of the buildings here.

There are also a few Airbnbs at Pinnacle Inn.

White Wolf Lodge

I loved this place and the story of the owners, Larry and Laura Watren. They moved to Beech Mountain, NC, from Orlando, Florida, and restored a building that was about to be torn down, creating a gift shop, restaurant and lodging with a mission to use profits to help abused children and men struggling with addiction.

Lodgings at White Wolf Lodge range from bunk-style housing for large groups to a cabin that will sleep up to 14 people. If every space was rented out, you could sleep up to 111 guests.

White Wolf Lodge also has equipment for rent, including skis, snowboards, snow gear and clothing, paddle boards and mountain bikes. We rented bikes one day and take an amazing ride through the mountains and down to Banner Elk Winery and Villas.

Bunk rooms at White Wolf Lodge

There are two bunk rooms that can house up to 63 people with a separator wall between the boys and the girls. We toured the space and saw a comfortable-looking space with new-looking beds and bedding. I could practically hear the giggles of large groups of children, but it’s also a great choice for any large group that doesn’t mind sharing close quarters for sleeping.

There are separate bathrooms for men and women, a common area to share and a 65” TV. The full-size kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals.

The cabin at White Wolf Lodge

The 3,000-square-foot cabin has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, full kitchen, fireplace and a wraparound deck with rocking chairs and a four-person hot tub. It’s tucked in the woods and surrounded by hiking trails.

Beech Mountain Chalets at White Wolf Lodge

The living area in one of the chalets at White Wolf Lodge in Beech Mountain.

White Wolf Lodge has three spacious chalets with hardwood floors, kitchens, dining areas and queen-size beds. The deck has rocking chairs and a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With the on-site restaurant, options for ski rentals and the view, these would be my choice for a Beech Mountain chalet.

Banner Elk Winery and Villas

view of the Villas at Banner Elk Winery and villas
The Villas overlook the grounds of Banner Elk Winery, which makes delicious wines.

Banner Elk Winery and Villas is not technically in Beech Mountain, but it’s so beautiful, it’s worthy of a mention. If you’re traveling for a special occasion and want to opt for more privacy and elegance, this is the place you want to spend your Beech Mountain vacation.

Located adjacent to the winery, there are eight suites, with names like Cabernet Grand Suite, Chardonnay or Zinfandel Suite. The Alicante Barrel Grande Suite overlooks the winery’s trout pond and has a fireplace, an exposed beam ceiling, jacuzzi bathtub and semi-private patio.

There is also the option to rent the entire villa, a popular option for reunions, weddings and corporate meetings. The villa has a kitchen, living area and den with a fireplace.

Banner Elk Winery is about a 15-minute drive from Beech Mountain and 2-3 minutes from Banner Elk, North Carolina.

Options for Homes for Beech Mountain Rentals

A lot of people opt to rent homes when they travel to Beech Mountain, preferring to have more space and a full kitchen. There are several home rentals in Beech Mountain, NC, available in the rental market, with these companies handling the rental process.

Beech Mountain Realty & Rentals

Use filters to search for homes that are close to the slopes, are pet-friendly or offer use of the amenities at the Beech Mountain Club, which has a pool, tennis courts, fitness center, spa, pickleball, golf and restaurants. There’s also a section with specials that includes discounts if you’re traveling for an event to Appalachian State University or Lees-McCrae, or a mountain biking race. It’s also easy to compare price.

Emerald Realty and Rentals

This company includes home rentals in Emerald Mountain, a 440-acre private property. Search for homes ranging from small (sleeps 2-6) to large (sleeps 8+). There’s an availability calendar to help with your search. It’s no fun spending a lot of time searching for your dream Beech Mountain rentals and finding out the ones you love are not available during your time frame.

VCI Rentals

This company rents at 4 Seasons at Beech as well as condos and homes with up to four bedrooms. The home we stayed in was through VCI Rentals. Named Altitude Adjustment, it has four bedrooms with a gas fireplace and full kitchen. It worked well for our group of four women.

Photos, full descriptions and distance from Ski Beech are included in the descriptions.

We loved Beech Mountain, North Carolina, and wherever you elect to stay we predict you’ll love it!
