I thought we’d timed it perfectly to see the cherry trees in full bloom in DC a few years ago. But a storm blew through and blasted all the blossoms off, leaving me bereft. We got another chance on a visit to Toronto last year.
We just followed the crowds deep into High Park where we found hundreds of people furiously snapping photos. With only 30 trees, compared to DC’s 3,750, it wasn’t quite the same as strolling around the Tidal Basin, but the trees are gorgeous, especially set against the beautiful blue sky and the skyline of Toronto.
