Eiger Express gondola

While you may never climb the treacherous North Face of Eiger Mountain in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland, you can now ride your way more than 7,600 feet up the mountain on the new Eiger Express.

The $516 million gondola system built by Jungfrau Railways  takes visitors over four miles of Alpine meadows to the base of Eigergletscher Station in just 15 minutes. It can transport 4,000 guests an hour.  It’s also a shortcut to the final section of the  Jungfraubahn, the highest railway station in Europe.

Guests depart from the new  Grindelwald Terminal, with shops. restaurants and ski depot.
