I never thought I could do it. Fly through the air on a trapeze and hang by my knees? I’d never even successfully completed a pull-up. But I did it.
During the pandemic I’ve thought of that lesson. Who among us would have thought we could go months without going to the office, going to parties, flying on a plane or seeing friends and family?
Unlike my trapeze lesson, we have had no choice in many areas of our lives. I think of the Sting lyric, “When the world is running down, you make the best of what’s still around.”
