I loved touring the Hôtel de Glace located outside of Quebec City, Canada. We slid down the ice slide, visited the ice chapel and sat at an ice table to enjoy a vodka drink. In an ice glass, of course.
I was happy to bed down that night in a warm bed, not carved out of a block of ice. But visitors love staying in the only ice hotel in North America, newly built each year with around 40 rooms. They can try to keep warm with a sleeping bag and animal hide blankets.
The hotel reopens in early January.
