I’m About to Abandon My Lifelong No-Camping Policy. Please Help.

“Maybe we could camp,” my husband said hopefully. “Look at this adorable Airbnb,” I said, and booked it for a visit to lake property we own in North Carolina.

While I’ve slept in primitive cabins, I’ve never slept in a tent. I can’t explain my change of heart, but I’ve agreed to camp when the weather gets cooler. Maybe because of the shopping opportunity.

I reached out for tips and what I need to take. In addition to “Just say no!” warnings I got great advice and we bought lots of gear. Let’s hope I fall in love with camping.
