Cocktails of The Caribbean: Jamaican Coconut Cocktail

by Shane Swor
Coconuts in Jamaica

Boarding the MSC Seaside at the Miami port, I had no clue that the best cocktails of my life were simply awaiting my discovery on this Caribbean cruise.

As I was about to leave Ocho Rios, Jamaica, a man was selling coconuts on the street-side, in a small shack. For a little extra he would throw in some rum. Not just any rum, but a funky, pot still rum known as Wray & Nephew. With a dash of mysterious green colored liquid, the cocktail that I was given was divine. A burst of simplicity … coconut water never tasted so good.

We are sorry about that. This writer usually does include a recipe, but in this case it was a story about the cocktail. We just recategorized it and apologize. Thanks for calling it to our attention.
