Take It Easy at La Posada Hotel in Winslow, AZ

The last of the great Fred Harvey Railroad Hotels, La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona, has been lovingly restored and revitalized to give cross country (think Route 66) travelers more than just a place to lay their heads.

I enjoyed the comfort of the spacious Southwest-themed room, replete with eco-friendly amenities and a bookcase full of books. There were many beautiful pieces of Indian jewelry and weavings I coveted in the gift shop. I still yearn for locally sourced food from The Turquoise Room. Art lovers will love the galleries and the new WAT Museum.

Then go stand on the corner!
