One year after Christmas we spent a glorious week in one of the most beautiful North Georgia luxury cabin rentals doing a whole lot of nothing. Our primary goals were to sit by the fireplace, read books and watch TV. I’m proud to say we accomplished all those goals.
If you are in a more active frame of mind than we were on that trip, there is plenty to do when (and if!) you are ready to leave your cabin in North Georgia. There’s hiking, whitewater rafting, hang gliding, zip lining and ropes courses to challenge yourself.
For more sedate activities, visit some of the many waterfalls in the area or check out the shops and restaurants in the cute mountain towns.
For a trip to Bavaria, visit Helen, Georgia, where astute tourism and town officials turned this small town into an alpine village, which has become one of the state’s major tourism attractions.
And while a few decades ago, my home state was possibly known more for the production of moonshine than wine, we now have several respected and award-winning wineries in North Georgia including Tiger Mountain Vineyards, Frogtown Cellars and Wolf Mountain Vineyards & Winery.
Whether you have a week or just a long weekend, time spent in the mountains in North Georgia is a perfect stress-reducing getaway. No matter how active you are.
We’ve found luxury cabins in Georgia that have fire pits, hot tubs, fireplaces, game rooms and one even has a music center. Some are on acres of property, at the top of mountains or right by a creek.
Here are our top choices for luxury cabin rentals in Georgia, starting with luxury cabins for two, then our top five, followed by more cabins organized by location.
You’ll find that almost all of the luxury cabins in North Georgia – there are very few cabins in South Georgia, but we managed to find one near Savannah.
