Forget Our Daily Bread – Make Mine an Almond Croissant

Majid Amoorpour

When traveling, I used to hunt for the best burger or fried chicken. Then my life’s quest changed forever when my daughter and I tasted an almond croissant in a Montreal market. We flew home with a dozen.

These days I search for the best almond croissant, allowing myself one daily. None have measured up to that first one until two were delivered one morning to my Charlotte Airbnb by the landlord, also a baker.

Majid Amoorpour, an Iranian native by way of Sweden,  just opened a bakery in Belmont, NC called The Everyday Market.
