Mother-daughter trips resume, with one major change

Annual trips with my daughter were a highlight of my year. Derailed by the pandemic, we resumed them this year with a fantastic cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas, which set sail out of Galveston, Texas, near Houston where Catherine lives.

We lounged in the adults-only Solarium, watched the amazing ice show, took dance classes, and dined on lobster, sushi and steaks at some of the fantastic restaurants.

There’s been a big change in the intervening years – the birth of my darling granddaughter, Elena, born March 2021. In just a few years, she’ll be joining us on our adventures.
