Have you heard about the new scam targeting airline passengers?

After you’ve reached your destination, it’s fine to toss that airline-issued baggage tag, right? While you no longer need it, be careful where you toss it.

That tag is loaded with information about you. It has your name, flight number, date and destination – enough information for a scammer to pretend to be you and try to make a claim for lost items. That can cause a problem for you if you later discover you have a legitimate claim.

The same goes for boarding passes that can be hacked to steal personal data. Shred these items or toss them at home.
