Oh, the Places We’ll Go

One friend called it “your best travel story ever.” Fully vaccinated, I flew to Houston for the birth of my granddaughter, Elena Catalina Villarreal. This sweet baby girl was born March 27 and instantly captured my heart, just like her mother had many years before.

I’m staying in Houston for a few weeks to help the new parents as they navigate the 24-hour cycle of life with a newborn. I pause often during cooking or cleaning up to kiss those chubby cheeks or hold her.

And it’s never too early to be thinking about those family vacations and mother-daughter-granddaughter trips.
