Rediscovering the Joys of a Summer Spent at Home

For years a half-packed, half-unpacked suitcase sat on the ottoman in my bedroom. I was  just back from a trip or preparing for another one – often both in the same week.

My suitcase is in the attic collecting dust, the upcoming trips section on my Tripit app is empty and I haven’t been on a plane for four months.

But I’ve found a good source for home-grown tomatoes, sweet  juicy peaches and fresh-picked blueberries for this delicious blueberry cobbler.  We’re getting to know our neighbors better during weekly socially distant cocktail parties.

Our world has shrunk. But it’s still good.
