Stroll Around the Redwoods With Opening of Longest Sky Walk in the West

No harnesses or helmets are needed to enjoy the new Redwood Sky Walk in Eureka, California, where visitors can “climb” giant redwood trees on a series of sloping ramps that ascend 100 feet above the forest floor.

Located in the Sequoia Park Zoo, the Sky Walk is made up of a series of wooden structures with aluminum bridges and platforms. And yes, they do sway some in the wind.

Great care was taken to minimize the impact of the attachments on the massive redwood trees, which stretch far above the Sky Walk, with a canopy of up to 250 feet.
