Accommodations that ranged from rustic to resort made road trip more adventurous

federal quarters in St. Marys.

We like to mix it up when it comes to accommodations. During our seven stop, three-week road trip in Georgia and Florida we stayed in properties that ranged from a home in St. Marys, Georgia, built in 1801, where Aaron Burr stayed after killing Alexander Hamilton to a new beachside resort, Jekyll Ocean Club.

Other accommodations included two Airbnbs, a guesthouse and our friends’ home on Little Cumberland Island on the coast of Georgia, accessible only by boat, that has less than 50 homes.

Our last stop was a new luxury resort property on Florida’s 30A, the Camp Creek Inn.
