Road trippin’ to small inns a fulfillment of life goal

by Jan Schroder

Years ago I was visiting Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I spotted an older couple lounging in white Adirondack chairs and vowed when we were older I wanted to travel around and stay in charming inns.

We did that recently, road tripping to a farm in North Georgia and three inns in Southwest Virginia. We fed animals at Satolah Creek Farm, learned about country music at The Sessions Hotel in Bristol, took an ATV on mountain paths at the Western Front Hotel in St. Paul and dined at fantastic restaurants at the Craddock Terry Hotel in Lynchburg.
