Rainbows and Waterfalls in Iceland

Gullfoss waterfall in Iceland

Before going to Iceland, I knew I would see waterfalls, but I had no idea I would lose track of how many as I drove around the country on the Ring Road.

Countless waterfalls poked through the scenery off the Ring Road. Most I admired from the car, but several were main attractions worth exploring. I got drenched walking the slippery path behind Seljalandsfoss. Steep stairs led me to the top of Skógafoss. Dettifoss was roaring and powerful. Kirkjufellsfoss proved why it’s one of the most photographed locations in Iceland. And Gullfoss showed me my first of many rainbows.
