Fall is prime viewing time for polar bears. These usually solitary creatures congregate along coasts as they wait for the ice to form so they can feast on their favorite food – seals.
The best spot to see polar bears is the tiny town of Churchill in Manitoba, a province of Canada on the Hudson Bay, known as the polar bear capital of the world.
It’s not easy to reach Churchill, but once you do there are a variety of tours, from a one-day tour on a tundra vehicle to multi-day tours that include a stay in a tundra lodge.
