Wisconsin’s Stockholm Pie Is Worth the Detour!

You’d think that the tiny town of Stockholm, Wisconsin — with fewer than 75 residents — could never support a café devoted to pie. But you’d be wrong, because the fresh, scratch-baked goodies at Stockholm Pie are so mouthwateringly tempting that the store has become somewhat of a legend throughout Wisconsin and beyond.

I meandered more than 60 miles along the winding, scenic Great River Road, mesmerized by views of the Mighty Mississippi but so anxious to reach my destination. Then I gawked at the extensive pie menu for 15 minutes before finally deciding on blackberry apple. Next time: coconut cream!
