Is this the future of TSA and will it help?

rendering of TSA process

One day, we may be able to get through TSA with less human interaction. A program started last month at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas lets PreCheck passengers complete screening on their own with little assistance.

Passengers will go to a self-service kiosk to perform some of the screening process then finish at their own pace. Apparently, the goal is to reduce wait times, pat downs and bag inspections so TSA agents can perform other tasks.

We’re all for that, but the slowest part of the process is screening the bags. We’re waiting for them to speed that up.
