The Man Who Swam Around an Island

by Jan Schroder
Ross Edgley

Whatever you did last summer you can’t top this: Ross Edgley swam around Great Britain. The whole thing. After getting in the water June 1, he did not leave it until 157 days later.

Sleeping in a support boat and battling dozens of jellyfish stings, he swam up to 12 hours a day. The grossest thing? His tongue was disintegrating from the salt water.

Add it to his list of feats. In 2016, he also completed the world’s longest rope climb and two months before that he completed a marathon. What’s the big deal? He was pulling a MINI Cooper.
