Would You Stay in the Smallest Hotel in the World?

by Jan Schroder

Don’t ask for an upgrade at Eh ‘ häusl  hotel in Amberg, Germany. It only has one room.

This 8′-wide property in Bavaria was built in 1728 as an affordable way for couples to circumvent the city requirement that they had to own property to get married. They would buy the house, get married, then sell it to the next engaged couple.

It was turned into a cozy hotel in 2008 and while it’s small in space, it’s big in luxury. It has a fireplace, whirlpool tub and multiple seating areas spread over seven floors.

See our story on the world’s first space hotel.
