Hotel Colee a Fun Addition to Buckhead in Atlanta

Sometimes it’s the little things that really make a difference in a hotel stay for me. A few of those things at Hotel Colee include having two bathrooms in our suite, a shower with five faucet heads and a dimmer on the bathroom lights. Really, who wants to see themselves in full lighting first thing in the morning?

We also really appreciated having two sinks in the bathroom – no nudging your companion over for space or elbowing for a spot to brush your teeth.

Let’s talk about a few of the bigger things we loved about our room at this new hotel in Buckhead in Atlanta, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection. The bed is really comfortable, we loved the décor with a headboard that wrapped around part of the room and the cute seating area in the corner.

Here are a few more features about the property.

Amenities: Hotel Colee has 286 rooms on 12 floors and five suites. It has a beautiful infinity pool overlooking Peachtree Street, a fitness center, electric vehicle charging station and breakfast items to go available daily from the lobby. The rooms have complimentary bottles of water, coffee maker and mini fridge.

One of the most popular features of Hotel Colee is Whiskey Blue, the fabulous indoor/outdoor rooftop bar with two large outdoor patios, 65-foot mural by a local artist and some of the best views of Atlanta’s skyline. In addition to a full cocktail list, locally brewed craft beers and cigars, the menu includes snacks like deviled eggs, Angus beef sliders and Asian BBQ wings.

Location: It’s a short walk to the best shopping and dozens of restaurants at Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza. It’s also close to several more restaurants including South City Kitchen, Bistro Niko and New York Prime.

The hotel does not have a restaurant for dinner so during our stay we walked across the street and got takeout from Maggiano’s, one of our favorite places.

It’s also right by a MARTA station for easy public transportation. If you’re familiar with the Buckhead area, Hotel Colee is where the W Hotel Buckhead was.

Design: I had been to the W Hotel Buckhead many times and was delighted at the changes in the lobby, which is now an explosion of color. The inclusion of barber chairs and a wall of hats worthy of Sunday church, a royal wedding or the Kentucky Derby are a nod to those two hubs of Southern culture – the barbershop and the beauty parlor.
