“It’s an experience versus a hall of dead guys,” said one comedian about the new National Comedy Center that opened in Jamestown, New York, Lucille Ball’s hometown.

The $50 million museum celebrates the history of comedy in the United States and has more than 50 immersive exhibitions in 37,000 square feet. You can have a faux pie contest, try your hand at cartooning or even test out your stand-up comedy routine.

Follow the history of comedy though vaudeville days, through radio and TV shows to present day. One famous item includes the infamous white puffy shirt from “Seinfeld.”
