Embracing the Concept of Slow Travel

After a trip to Montreal one summer, I told my husband we needed to spend six weeks there one summer, subletting an apartment and traveling through the city by bicycle.

It hasn’t happened yet, but my future plans include embracing “slow travel,” the concept of spending more time in one place, and moving about at a slower pace. Like by bike rather than high-speed train.

While our schedules and commitments haven’t yet allowed for long, slow trips, we did manage a two-week trip through Virginia in August, relished spending several days in destinations rather than breezing quickly through multiple cities.
