Newport Worth A Stop on the Oregon Coast

The small fishing town of Newport, located on Oregon’s Yaquina bay is a must stop when I’m on the coast. Exploring the waterfronts many gift shops and restaurants is always a pleasure, and the sea lions along the wharf never disappoint. They love to ham it up for tourists.

On the oceanfront side of town is Nye Beach. It’s a long laid-back stretch of surf and sand. Along the main road, a growing neighborhood of upscale gift shops, fine restaurants and craft breweries are taking root. Whenever I visit I find something unique.
