The mini-spa bathroom had sea-green lighting. An underwater scene covered the wall behind a soaking tub that beckoned me. I was up to my neck in bubbles, sipping Prosecco, while trying to decide my mermaid name.
I was lucky enough to stay in one of 16 rooms above Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow Cornwall. A blue and white color scheme and luxurious, casual, made-for-coziness feel were everywhere. I found my retreat from the summer crowds.
The restaurant downstairs was brilliant, the seafood was hook-to-mouth. The wine, ambiance, and service were elegant and sublime.
