For stunning beauty, 60 miles of Pacific Coast beaches, 97 state parks, 20 Michelin restaurants and more than 20 charming towns and cities to explore, head to the San Francisco Peninsula.

Our time was short but we visited Filoli Historic House & Garden where we strolled through gorgeous gardens and took a seat on a shady patio where we were treated to the best wine tasting ever led by Master Somm David Glancy, founder of the San Francisco Wine School.

Next stop was for dinner at Twelvemonth, a 100% plant-based restaurant in Burlingame, a scenic city with a walkable downtown area.

David Glancy is one of only 12 people in the world to be both a Master Somm and a Certified Wine Educator. But his presentation was anything but stuffy and pretentious. He was funny, informative and told us we shouldn’t be “paralyzed with fear about finding the right wine.” After we tasted several wines paired with delicious food, my husband raised his hand. “I usually don’t enjoy wine tastings, but I hung on every word of this one,” he said. The San Francisco Wine School delivers wine tasting kits across the U.S.

We enjoyed an amazing meal at Twelvemonth in Burlingame. The food is plant-based with everything sourced within 100 miles of the restaurant. The huge patio is perfect for relaxing on warm nights.
