This Gorgeous English-Speaking European Country in the Mediterranean Will Pay You to Visit

In 2019 2.7 million people visited this small European country, but that dropped by 80% in 2020. To jumpstart the tourism industry, Malta opened to vaccinated tourists June 1 and is paying them up to $240 a person for stays of at least three nights at select hotels.

Located 100 miles south of Sicily, this small Mediterranean archipelago has a mild, sunny climate,  inexpensive transportation system, plenty of water-related activities and historic sites to explore in the 5,000-year-old country.

It has about 100 dive sites around its three major islands and has been voted a top dive spot in the world.
