When Will You Be Able to Cruise Again? It’s Complicated.

No one wants to set sail more than cruise lines but ships that carry over 250 people are under the CDC’s No Sail Order until July 24.

Another issue is the complexity of their itineraries. While some ports are ready to welcome visitors, others are not. Hawaii has a 14-day quarantine in place; Alaska and Maine require visitors to be tested.

Ships also have to make massive changes on board. Gyms and spas may not be open, pool time may have to be scheduled, food service changed and medical staff added.

Some are hoping for September, but more delays may come.

Deciding between a river or ocean cruise? Here’s how to decide.
